This is a photograph (most likely taken around 1910) of my Great Grandad (Gilbert Tompsett).

I had the urge to keep chickens from a young age and       eventually aquired my first bantams at age 11 and have kept chickens ever since. It wasn't untill recently that my father showed me this photograph - only then did i realise why i have always had a desire to keep poultry. It's in the blood!!!!!

There appears to be a few dozen birds around him of varying ages; the white ones are probably white sussex. I wonder what food is in the bucket?
